Emergencies Abroad

In an Emergency:

  1. First and foremost, take whatever actions are necessary to assure your immediate safety or medical needs.
  2. Contact International SOS as soon as possible by phone at 1-215-942-8478 for help, or start a chat or phone call from within the Assistance App. You may ask the operator to reverse the charges.
  3. International SOS can assist with getting you immediate care, whether it requires evacuating you to a center of medical excellence or closely monitoring your condition with local doctors, or initiating security assistance.
  4. Call the local equivalent of "911," if appropriate. Review the U.S. State Department’s global "911" list.
  5. Contact the nearest U.S. Embassy or consular service, or the embassy of your country of citizenship.
