Afya Bora Fellowship in Global Health Leadership
The Afya Bora Fellowship in Global Health Leadership works to fill the identified gap in training for African and U.S. health professionals working in global health.

American Medical Women's Association Overseas Grant
This program provides travel grants for medical students and residents working in clinics around the world.

The Arnold P. Gold Foundation Student Summer Fellowship
Medical students may apply for either the research fellowship or the service fellowship, which includes a $4,000 stipend for a 10-week period.

Benjamin H. Kean Traveling Fellowship in Tropical Medicine
Provides up to $1,000 toward living and travel expenses for medical students proposing electives at an international site in tropical medicine/infectious disease.

Boehringer Ingelheim Fonds
Awards travel grants of up to three months duration to M.D. and Ph.D. students, as well as postdoctoral researchers to conduct experimental projects in basic biomedical research, pursue short-term research stays, or attend practical courses relevant to their projects.

CDC Epidemiology Elective Program for Senior Medical Students
Provides an opportunity for third- and fourth-year medical and veterinary students to gain public health experience in an international setting.

Child Family Health International (CFHI)
Child Family Health International (CFHI) runs more than 30 global health education programs in 11 countries placing students in clinics and public health facilities alongside local health professionals. CFHI is an NGO recognized by the United Nations. CFHI offers scholarships for global health education programs.

David E. Rogers Student Fellowship Award
This award is open to medical or dental school students in the U.S. and offers up to $4,000.

Fulbright – U.S. Student Program
Scholarships for international exchange opportunities for students, scholars, and professionals to undertake international graduate study, advanced research, and teaching in schools worldwide.

Fulbright-Fogarty Fellowship in Public Health
These fellowships are offered through a partnership between the Fulbright Program and the Fogarty International Center. These awards were established to promote the expansion of research in public health and clinical research in resource-limited settings.

Fulbright Scholar Program
The Fulbright Scholar Program provides awards for U.S. academics, administrators, and professionals to teach, research, do professional projects, and attend seminars abroad.

USAID Programs
USAID offers fellowships and internships to work internationally.

Herbert W. Nickens Medical Student Scholarships
The AAMC awards this scholarship for outstanding students entering their third year of medical school who have shown leadership in efforts to eliminate inequities in medical education and health care and have demonstrated leadership efforts in addressing educational, societal, and health care needs of minorities in the United States.

PAHO/WHO Health Organization Internship Opportunities
Fellowships provide opportunities for study in public health fields that are not customarily available in the fellow’s home country. They are intended to promote the international exchange of scientific knowledge and techniques related to health.

Yale/Johnson & Johnson Physician Scholars in International Health
Yale/Johnson & Johnson Physician Scholars will annually select up to 15 physician-in-training scholars from institutions outside of Yale during their residency and five career physician scholars for rotations in overseas sites. Rotations are largely directed at clinical experiences, service, and teaching, as opposed to research.
